A colonial building dating from 1770, Meson de la Abundancia in Real de Catorce welcomes you to discover the charm of this “Pueblo Mágico” (magical town), which has laid the scene for many international movies.
Originally, this building was a private home until in 1850 it was transformed into the treasury of Real de Catorce due to its proximity to the Mint. Among the tours organized here, you can learn more about the history and structure of the property as it is one of the best preserved in the town
In 1978 it provided accommodation for the movie “Pedro Paramo,” which was a very important event for the hotel as it gave an air of mystery to the hotel that remains today.

At Mesón de la Abundancia, flavors are an important part of the experience, not only for the hotel but for Real de Catorce too. The menu is a combination of regional and international dishes prepared with organic products. The specialty here are dishes prepared with cactus plants that are typical of the region, such as cabuches, aloe vera and palm flower among others. The delicious cabuches pizza comes highly recommended.
The desserts and cocktails are also worthy of a mention and make an excellent companion to the meals that you savor here.
