Checking the mobile constantly even when we don’t have new notifications, surfing the web until the wee hours of the morning, using social networks to express feelings and to learn about a friend or family member, are but a few of the symptoms of a person with “techno-addiction”.<\/p>\n
This addiction we are referring to is not properly a disease, but it is very much like the dependency developed by people addict to some product or substance. It sounds really worrying if you see it this way, doesn’t it? That is why a new trend has risen with the essence of promoting the decrease of mobile devices use.<\/p>\n
It is impossible to unplug 100% from them as many people, including myself, need to use them for our work. But, what about your days off? We all have free hours and of course, established days off, just as vacation periods, so we can use these periods of time to carry out this important action to help improve our personal lives, our REAL lives.<\/p>\n
While it is true that to carry out this DIGITAL DETOX is only about pushing the OFF button in our devices, the true challenge is to make this decision. To facilitate this process, we leave you the following points to consider:<\/p>\n
– Think about the things you have missed to be learning about what happens in the digital world, such as strolling outdoors, gaze at landscapes you haven’t enjoyed for a while, chatting with friends or family without checking your mobiles all the time.<\/p>\n
– Your body will appreciate this detox, your eyes will rest from the artificial light these devices emit, your mind will relax from learning things that many times are not beneficial from you, but you “casually” learned while surfing on social networks. The less information saturation, the bigger the possibility to learn really important stuff through our senses.<\/p>\n
– Carrying out a DIGITAL DETOX will reduce sedentism as most of the times we prefer to sit on the couch to going out and interact with other people.<\/p>\n
